On the Feast of the Exultation (Triumph) of the Cross, we honor the Holy Cross by which Christ redeemed the world. The Cross of Christ is the instrument of our salvation. Adoration of the Cross is adoration of Jesus Christ, the God Man, who suffered and died for our redemption from sin.
The cross is a summary of the Passion, Crucifixion and Resurrection of Christ. The Cross, because of what it represents, is the universal symbol of the Christian faith. It inspires liturgical and private devotions: for example, the Sign of the Cross, which is a calling upon the Holy Trinity; the “little” Sign of the Cross on our head, lips and heart at the reading of the Gospel; praying the Stations of the Cross and the Veneration of the Cross on Good Friday when the faithful kiss the image of our Savior crucified.
Parents: if there is a crucifix in your child’s room, make sure to call attention to it at bedtime prayers. If you don’t have one, maybe this would be the time to get one. A crucifix near the front door of our homes is a wonderful reminder, upon entering and leaving, that in all that we say and do, we are to follow Christ.

En la fiesta de la exaltación (Triumph) de la Cruz, rendimos homenaje a la Santa Cruz, por el que Cristo redimió al mundo. La cruz de Cristo es el instrumento de nuestra salvación. Adoración de la Cruz es la adoración de Jesús Cristo, el hombre de Dios, que sufrió y murió para redimirnos del pecado.
La cruz es un resumen de la Pasión, Crucifixión y Resurrección de Cristo. La Cruz, por lo que representa, es el símbolo universal de la fe cristiana. Se inspira en devociones litúrgicas y privadas, como por ejemplo, la señal de la cruz, que es un llamado a la Santísima Trinidad, la "pequeña" señal de la cruz sobre la cabeza, los labios y el corazón en la lectura del Evangelio, rezar las Estaciones de la Cruz y la veneración de la cruz el Viernes Santo, cuando los fieles besan la imagen de nuestro Salvador crucificado.
Padres: si hay un crucifijo en la habitación de su hijo, asegúrese de llamar la atención sobre las oraciones antes de acostarse. Si usted no tiene uno, tal vez este sería el momento para conseguir uno. Un crucifijo cerca de la puerta de nuestras casas es un maravilloso recuerdo, al entrar y salir, que en todo lo que decimos y hacemos, hemos de seguir a Cristo.
