The Augustinian Recollect Community that serves our parish is mourning the death of the Prior Provincial (National Superior) of their religious Order, Father Joseph Gallardo, O.A.R., who died on January 25 at the age of 56, the result of a heart attack.
Fr. Joseph was a native of California and is survived by his father, who lives in Buena Park, along with two sisters and all the priests and brothers of his religious community.
The community gathered at St. Augustine Priory in Oxnard on February 1 for the Vigil and Rosary, and the Mass of Christian Burial was held the following day.
