Just a reminder for our teenagers and adults preparing for the Sacrament of Confirmation, it is important to select a Sponsor who is practicing their Catholic Faith. They, like the godparents for Baptism, must meet the following requirements:
1. All sponsors must have received the Sacraments of Baptism, Eucharist and Confirmation. (Confirmation is the completion of the three Sacraments of Initiation).
2. In selecting a sponsor, if he/she is married, they are to be married in the Catholic Church. A sponsor who is not married is fine, as long as they are not living together with a boyfriend/girlfriend. To be a sponsor is a wonderful blessing and a responsibility.
Solo un recordatorio para nuestros adolescentes y adultos que se preparan para el Sacramento de la Confirmación, es igualmente importante seleccionar padrinos (patrocinadores) que están practicando su fe católica. Ellos, como los padrinos de bautismo, debe cumplir los siguientes requisitos:
1. Todos los patrocinadores que han recibido los sacramentos del Bautismo, Eucaristía y Confirmación es la terminación de los tres Sacramentos de la Iniciación).
2. En la selección de un patrocinador, si el/ella esta casada, deben estar casados por la Iglesia Católica. Un patrocinador que no esta casado esta bien, siempre y cuando no viven juntos con un novio/novia. Para servir como Padrino es un maravillosa bendición y una responsabilidad.
