During the Second Week of Advent we celebrate one of the holy days of obligation Thursday, December 8, the Solemnity of the Immaculate Conception, remembering that Mary was conceived without the stain of original sin. God chose Mary even from before her birth, to be the mother of Jesus.
This feast should also remind us that cleansed from original sin in the Sacrament of Baptism; we are brought into new life with Christ. Mary, under the title of Immaculate Conception, is the patroness of the United States.
Durante la segunda semana de Adviento celebramos uno de los días de precepto Jueves 8 de Diciembre, la Solemnidad de la Inmaculada Concepción. Este día se conmemora la concepción de María sin la mancha del pecado original. Dios escogió a María antes de nacer, para que fuera la madre de Jesús.
Esta fiesta nos recuerda que por medio de Sacramento del Bautizo estamos limpios del pecado original y que también nacemos a una vida nueva con Cristo. María, bajo el título de La Inmaculada Concepción, es la patrona de los Estados Unidos.
