Jesus tells his disciples to “Be watchful! Be alert! Because they do not know when the Lord will come.” As we begin this Season of Advent, we are reminded that we, too, must be watchful as we wait for the coming of the Lord. As Catholics, we use the opportunities in our daily lives to grow in our relationship with God while still being aware that this world is not our final home. The Season of Advent calls us to live in the present while looking forward to the future.
Jesús les dice a sus discípulos que “Estén preparados y vigilando”, porque no saben cuando vendrá el Señor.” Cuando comenzamos el tiempo de Adviento, se nos recuerda que también nosotros debemos prepararnos y vigilar mientras esperamos la venida del Señor. Como Católicos, aprovechamos las oportunidades de la vida diaria para mejorar nuestra relación con Dios, aunque somos conscientes de que este mundo no es nuestro destino final. El tiempo de Adviento nos llama a vivir en el presente, pero también a esperar con ilusión el futuro.
